June 29, 2013
Wisdom, Courage, and Hope -
Towards a Community of Healing
In a closed session, the Program for the Survivors of Torture at Bellevue bring staff and clients, who are survivors of human rights abuses from Russia, Francophone Africa, Tibet, and other places, to collaborate in drawing and writing very personally about their origins, their journeys, and their hopes for present and future, in their first languages, as well as in English.
The Survivor Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to provide critical client assistance funding and services to the Bellevue Program for Survivors of Torture through individual gifts and volunteer fundraising activities. The Bellevue Program for Survivors of Torture’s mission is to assist individuals and families subjected to torture and other human rights abuses to rebuild healthy, self-sufficient lives, and to contribute to global efforts to end torture.
